FieldDescriptionValidated Entry
[Table title]Name of monitoring programmeDischarges of Radionuclides from the non-nuclear sector
[ProgrammeDescription]Description of the monitoring programme

OSPAR has agreed a coordinated reporting programme for liquid discharges from the non-nuclear sector. Discharge data are reported for the following non-nuclear sub-sectors; Oil and gas, Medical, University and research centres, Phosphate industry, Titanium dioxide pigment manufacture, Primary steel manufacture, Rare earth mineral production and Radiochemical production. Data are reported to OSPAR annually using an agreed reporting format. The data are published by OSPAR annually. Data on discharges of radionuclides from the oil and gas sub-sector are assessed in Periodic Evaluation reports.
